On May 18,2009, Barack Obama urged Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, to seize the movement of “historic opportunity” to move forward for the peace with Palestinians while resisting pressure from Israel for an “artificial deadline” to resolve the stand-off with Iran.
Mr. Netanyahu replied that he would be eager to go negotiate immediately with the Palestinians, but they will first state willingness clearly to recognize Israel as Jewish State.
There was no mistake with Mr. Obama applying to his Israel guest with such bluntly spoken before the camera was taken, “We have seen progress stalled on this front, and I suggested to the Prime Minister that he has a historic opportunity to get a serious movement on this issue during his tenure.” President Obama said, “That means all the parties involved have to take seriously obligations that they have previously agreed to.” He was also blunt on the illegality of new Israeli settlements. “The settlements have to be stopped,”

Newly opened Emirates Palace Hotel, the most expensive hotel for backdrop, was a place where the Abu Dhabi Music Festival took place. The instrumentists were Andrea Bocelli-the tenor and Bolshoi Orchestra. There were about 11,000 audiences. They’ve got more standing ovation for the rock concert instead of classical concert.

One of the leading cellist in the world, Matthew Barley, took part in a Bach workshop with children at the city’s British school. The workshop was about improvisations on the electric cello played in Barley’s computer. Because of this current event, Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s capital, is now one of the world’s wealthiest cities.

The festival was so strong that Sir James Galway, famous flutist, believes that Abu Dhabi festival could be the world’s biggest festival. He left with his comment, “When you see names like Bocelli and the Bolshoi Ballet, these are people anyone wants to be associated with. The way they do things here, the ambition, this could rival Lucerne or the Proms.”
If the ticket price wasn’t expensive enough-which was $200 for the top tickets, there is no doubt that there will be more audiences.

We are 8th grade students learning in International School in Bangkok, and now learning about the Middle East.
So the purpose of this blog is to learn about the Middle East deeper by discussing over this topic with many people.
The first topic we have now is KAW; what we Know, what we Assume, and what we Want to learn about the Middle East.
What we know about the Middle East is that there are many depute and terrorism going around the Middle East. We don’t know much about people around the Middle East, but we like to play sports so I know baseball is not that popular sport and soccer is popular sport.
Since there are many dispute and terrorism going on around the Middle East, so we assume that the Middle East is very dangerous area.
So we want to learn how people live under the dangerous situation and how people in the Middle East feel about it.
